Forever Bouquet

Hello! I’m want to share some fun ideas I had taking my dies “outside the box” this week!
I started by taking one of my favorite dies, the French Lattice Small Frame and cutting it apart to form corners for my layout. I just adore the pattern of this lattice! It’s delicate flair set the tone for my layout. Using the largest of the Mini Pearl Circle Reflections Boutique, I cut a circle for my background. I placed Lace Corner Deco B all around the edge of the circle to give it a lacy edge. The Victorian Garden Doily Frame surrounds my photo, matted with the Scalloped Rectangle Reflections Boutique. Tucked under my photo is Window A, framing my journaling words.

Masking Tutorial

Hello! I’m here with another layout featuring the Main Kit from My Creative Scrapbook.
I have a stash of mists but I’ve found them to be a bit intimidating…I decided it was time to dig them out and play with the mask from the kit! I really love how this turned out! Here is how I did it.
I started with an old piece of 12x12 cardstock and a plate.
After deciding where I wanted the circle on my layout, I positioned the plate in that spot and cut around it with my craft knife.
Setting the circle aside for future use, I lined my cardstock on top of my background paper so I could use the circle relief with my mask. Be sure both sheets of cardstock line up perfectly so you don’t have overspray on your background! Place the mask over the circle and spray with your mists.
I chose to use three colors (blue, pink, and yellow) that blended well with the kit papers. Because the mask was smaller than my circle, I ended up moving and spraying three times, being cautious so not to spray over the done areas. Tada!!
Because my mask was smaller than the misted area, it left lines from the edge of the mask. Not to worry! The line can be easily covered with the photo and embellishments!
The lace flowers were created using the grogeous lace from the kit.
Using needle and thread, I ran a blanket stitch through the top of the lace, pulling the lace tight as I went.
Once I had gathered enough lace to form my flower, I tied a knot in the thread. In this particular lace, four scallops is enough to create a flower, but I liked the dainty look of 5 better.
Using my craft glue, I adhered the gathered ends of the lace together. The flower center is an asterisks from the Thickers included in the kit.
I would love for you to share your version!

Studio Tour

Welcome to my studio! It is a small room, and when I get deep into a project it can get pretty deep and cramped but, I am very happy to have my own space!
I have a fairly good sized desk. The Clip It Up houses my dies from Cheery Lynn Designs. The little blue tote is ideal for storing my scissors, adhesive, etc at arms length.

This set of shelving works great for me. When I am working, I like easy access to everything, but when the project is complete I can effortlessly tuck everything back in it’s place.
The first section houses my computer and scanner. The top shelf has jars of buttons, lace, and twine, along with a basket of pearls and bling. The section on the far end has baskets of flowers, thickers, and adhesive. The little plastic drawers are wonderful for chipboard shapes, charms, inks, and stickles.
I’ve opened the doors so you can take a peek. My rub-on’s are stored in the binders. I just slip them into binder sleeves making handy access, and well as easy clean up! One of my best investments, and favorite storage solutions is my Ribbon Rings!
The little plastic pieces come in two different sizes. Just slip the ribbon through the plastic.
You can hang as many of the little plastic pieces as you want on a ring.
I bought a package of little Command Hooks and stuck them to the inside of my doors to hang the hooks on. I chose to store my ribbons by color so I have a hook for each color. No more knotted up messes. No more dumping and entire jar because the one I wanted was on the bottom. I tried wrapping them around clothes pins but I didn’t like that everything was creased….Now, no more creases! I just grab the piece I need and go!
Another great storage purchase is my Over-the-Door Shoe Organizer. It holds a tremendous amount without taking up more space in my room. I love that it is clear so I can see everything. It holds all my punches, diecuts, pins, and other odds and ends.
The previous owners left this shelf when we moved. It is an old 60’s - 70’s shelf built specifically for storing the old vinyl LP Music Records. It is 12 inches deep, and the shelf spacing is 13 inches. Perfect dimensions for paper!! It has wooden dividers every 6 inches which is ideal for sorting…an area for cardstock, company papers, kit papers, and scraps! The top is just right for my diecut machine!
Thank you for visiting my studio! I hope you enjoyed the tour!

Spring Fun!

Hello! Today I want to share two projects I created for Cheery Lynn Designs! The first is a masculine card featuring the Schooner.
The navy base is cut from the Scalloped Rectangle Reflections Boutique set. I cut the background using the Mini Pearl Rectangle Reflections Boutique set , then I created the sunset background with my distress inks, and used the Classic Circle Silver Stacker for the sun. The cattails were cut from the bottom of Fathers Day Homeward Bound. Outlining the portrait is the Celtic Chain Reflections Die.

Next I would like to share a layout I had published in the March Scrap & Scrap Arts Magazine!

If you are joining me from Leah’s blog, you are right on track. To start at the beginning go to the PaperHaus blog

I've got Spring Fever and decided this was the perfect opportunity to create a fun springy card using my dies from Cheery Lynn Designs.

I started by cutting the Little Pink Bicycle twice and piecing the parts together. The flowers in the basket are from Build a Flower Embellishment #2. The Grass Border is layered twice, with the bike tucked between the layers. I inked the background onto a Classic Oval Silver Stacker, layering it atop the Scalloped Oval Stacker Nesting die. Of course we need a couple Mini Dimensional Butterflies! The Swedish Spring Oval Frame has the perfect dainty touch to bring it all together. For some fun texture, I embossed the yellow banner with the Flutter Bys Embossing Plate, and the card base with the Dotted Swiss Embossing Plate. The card base was then cut from the Classic Coved Rectangle Silver Stacker, layered with the Scalloped Coved Rectangle Stacker Nesting Die.

Now, how about a fun little prize for stopping by! Actually, I've got two!
